Yeah, you can obtain everything in one playthrough, which I much prefer. Not enough time to be playing through games like this again in new game+ anymore.![]()
The slew of boss fights and cutscenes at the end of ch 5 holy shit. It's Xenosaga all over again

Took a bit, but I actually created a post game guide for people to use. There are some problems with it (vague locations of where UM's are), but I did not want to go around and took 100 pictures of locations for where UM/Enemies are, when that information is readily available already. Guide goes over progression for gems, accessories, how to farm gems efficiently, superbosses, and 3 party setups (2 for farming, 1 for superbosses).
I'm open to feedback for it if anyone wants to give any complaints lol.

I'm near the end of Chapter 4 (I think) and so far, my biggest complaint is the lack of Tank Heroes.
Also, do we get another evasion tank, or is Zephyr the only one?
In addition to Lone Exile. Spoilering the mechanics of a class you get in ch 5

It's goofy as shit, but TECHNICALLY Full Metal Jaguar can be an evasion tank as like 3/6 skills can have Evade on them and since it does pretty nuts damage when controlled you can maintain aggro. It's animations are super long so you just slot Evade abilities on the Master side and $$$. It does require A LOT more effort to play, but it definitely works in most regards.
About an hour into the game and I am getting strong early signals that this is going to be one of the most memorable jrpg's I am to play. Such a disgrace for mainstream reviewers handing this game out an 8.
Whateverrpg utterly fails in a critical aspect like battle system and loses a point while all they can come up for XC3 is characters talking between themselves (seriosuly, how annoyed one can ever get on this one) and long tutorials.
edit: Yasunari never disappoints. Music is like a dream.
The end might piss you off but the journey getting there is definitely well done.
I think I'm in chapter 4 or 5 (whenever it is I get to City) and it's pretty solid. My only real complaints are the AI still being hit or miss for positioning in some specific instances such as cliffsides, no bestiary/item entry to help find items for upgrades and some sidequests being extremely long.
