It plays great, I played the 3DS version so it was an improvement on all fronts to me.

I can't compare to 3ds version, but I didn't notice any frame rate issues or anything in docked mode at least.

Been going through Xenosaga 1-3 over the past 2 weeks. In the middle of Xenosaga 3 now. Can see a lot of similarities to Gears (obviously a huge one on this) and some for Blade 1/2/X. Story is pretty good, but feel like it's been way overhyped by the community.

The community was hyped about -saga back in the day because they're were hoping they'll manage to finally release the epic saga they were planning since -gears, but that once again ended up being a dream cut short

Xenosaga 1 and 3 were still great when they came out. May not hold up as well anymore

And I guess XS2 gave us the Break/Topple/Launch/Smash system Xenoblade uses

Xenosaga/Gears as a series suffers from it's own idea being too big for the technology available to it.
