Nintendolife gave it a 10/10 as well.

Criticisms mostly focus on uninspiring boss fights and strengths are underlined as the battle system and music. I admire Mitsuda and so damn happy to hear that this has a potential to be a masterpiece. A significant number of reviews also complain about in-battle dialogues between characters (so much to list as a "con"), I actually enjoyed them in XC2 but I guess at some point in the future they may simply add an option to turn them off.

My priorities in a good RPG are definitely the battle system and music, so no damn wonder this is going to be a screaming 10/10 for me.

Yeah looking a lot like they won't ship out until Friday. With their usual shipping speed prolly won't get the game until next Thursday at the earliest. Pretty lame considering it's just the game without any of the SE stuff.

Celine yelling "SOUTHERN CROSS!" and that little shit-gremlin yelling "BLACK SABRE!" are two of my fondest memories, and this is coming from a guy who hates chatty battle dialogue.

Been watching some streams, and I don't get the feeling 6+ characters, in a party, really flows very well. Plus there's a whole time-stop mechanic where, after the monster is gone through the break/topple/ect and you get to pick your combo, but it still doesn't do that much damage to a boss enemy. It really didn't feel like actions had a noticeable impact in battle and even mech-form was just a small DPS increase for a short period of time. Perhaps it gets better past low-20s, and you've min/maxed various jobs, but it felt really odd to watch.

I mean, that's doesn't sound surprising for the series - if you don't use the combat system correctly it's easy to get your ass whooped in 2 too. And I did watch a review where the guy mentioned he died a lot more in this one.
