FWIW I'm about 12 hours in and the slowdown hasn't bothered me much. I've only seen one really bad occurence so far, in a town while doing a quest with 10 pokemon following me at once. YMMV

I haven't really been bothered by the performance stuff thus far. I haven't had any really egregious issues either. Game is addictive as fuck though, just running around collecting and catching shit is great.

Yeah, I'm definitely still enjoying the game, but I would love a patch to fix the performance issues lol. This is definitely the worst running Pokemon game and Switch game I've played.

Having put less than five hours in last night, I think that's my takeaway too. I've played other monster training games (Cyber Sleuth, it's less memorable sequel, Temtem), and compared to those games, I just find Pokemon games more fun, and this one is no exception.

Yes, the performance issues are an annoyance and GameFreak deserves 100% of the criticism they're receiving, but as far as making an enjoyable game, that's still there.

I do want to see how the game performs in competitive since that's where I'll be spending most of my time, and I imagine most of these visual issues won't be an issue there.

man, after getting the 18 badges, finishing the post collection quests, finishing the final combined quest and getting credits, I thought I was done, now it wants me to go and redo all the gyms again, with scaled up teams, and then a big tournament after, man lol this game has been a blast

They'll never have "time to bake" because every other area of Pokemon's business is predicated on these new-gen games releasing every 3 years at the same time of the year. The toy merch, the anime, the trading card merch; all of it follows the new-gen games, which release on a 3-year cycle without question or interruption. Its up to Gamefreak to learn to fucking code for 3D within that 3-year span, because the entire business isn't changing its model for them.

Not like it really matters. The fans will buy them without question. Why invest money into fixing a problem if the fans don't see it as enough of a problem not to splash the cash on day 1? The game is good, and would be amazingly better with better optimization and less jank, but c'mon. The sales are guaranteed regardless of actual build quality.

Have fun if you want to use Miraidon/Koraidon in your pt after you get them. Every time you mount up they get removed from your party and you have to change their form again before battling

Speaking of mounts, if you angle your mount backwards on a hill/slope, hitting reverse will cause you to Skyrim it. Also, if some mobs are unreachable, but close enough to throw a pokeball at, battling the mob will cause you to teleport over to where they are.

Like I mentioned above, I'm honestly really really enjoying it. But I won't and can't deny the issues everyone is bringing up lol. I guess it depends on how much of that stuff you can tolerate.

Other then frame drops or occasional slow load ins, my experience has been relatively bug free

Can still enjoy a game if it runs like shit but the mere fact that it was released this way is nothing short of outrageous. If it weren't for being Pokemon it'd be getting raked through the coals instead of "well it makes my eyes bleed and runs like an asthmatic amputee but hey it's pokemon so that's fun"
