I'm not a huge fan of a lot of these designs. Will probably change once I see them in action and use them, but man are there some ugly mons this time around...

Also, some things I saw while combing through the news this morning:

It sounds let the Set battle setting has been removed (yes you can just say no, but not sure why they'd remove it).
A number of abilities have been nerfed and only proc once (defiant for instance).
Recovery moves have had their PP lowered to 5.
Sounds like I was wrong about the ability of the paradox mons - it's a boost if they're in sunny weather/electric terrain for Scarlet/Violet mons, respectively, or if they're holding a specific item(?).

Not that I've seen, but I haven't been checking since this morning. I think the copy that was leaked last night was Scarlet, for whatever that's worth?

I feel the paradoxes are going to be the big ones though, especially if they're one-and-dones. I honestly loved that Sw/Sh didn't have a ton of exclusive legendaries, so not thrilled that they're seemingly taking the approach S/M used with ultra beasts.

Yeah I am not either. Especially since it's still weird to me that Tyranitar/Salamance are exclusive in opposite games than where their paradoxes are. The Mecha Tyranitar more than anything is making me reconsider my choice of getting Scarlet.

I'll be waiting to see how Paradox forms are obtained I guess

Another ability getting nerfed is protean, it only works once now. Not super happy about this change, what's the point of it now? Choice items, you say? Shut up, you!

From what I've seen, breeding pokemon requires engaging with the picnic mechanic. There are some reports that the change is idiotic, some that say it is actually an improvement, so will have to see how it works in practice.

Zacian has been nerfed (good).

Most are focused on this game coming out next Friday, but man oh man, what a conclusion the anime's Masters 8 Tournament just had.

After the red herring of last episode's cliffhanger, they did good on old Ashy boi. Lots of nostalgia, all the animation budget, and a bonkers climax with 25 years of feels baked in. Cheers to the new Monarch.

There are 3 episodes of the show left, and it's gonna be a heartfelt farewell. They wrap up Go's Mew story next ep. After that though... no idea what shape or direction the show takes after we settle in to Gen IX, or if it even continues at all. They could just push forward with Ash getting stronger with new friends, or he could take the mentor role for a new protagonist after a time skip, or cameo the tourney at the end of Paldea or something. Who knows? Can't imagine they don't keep him around in some respect, the character will have its biggest appeal in years. Gotta push that merch.

Just came here to post about this. Episode was fucking amazing. They saved the budget from the ENTIRE tournament for this one fucking episode. And it was great

Really gave "Ash's finale" vibes big time, totally agree. They've done such a great job with the big climactic championship fights that I hope we get more.

ALSO WHAT THE FUCK BRINGING IN ALL THE POKEMON ASH HAS CAUGHT/PARTNERED WITH THROUGHOUT THE SERIES???!?!!?! Including the ones he's parted ways with. Fucking killed me in that moment. I was hoping we'd see some of these pokemon during the series. Ash did visit Oak's lab a buncha times and even went out and trained with his Greninja. Was nice to see they didn't forget about his Pidgeot, Primeape, Lapras AND HIS FUCKING BUTTERFREE

This was episode 132 of the Pokemon: Journeys (2019) series. No idea what episode it is for the entire series (talking 1000+). You can find a copy of it on the high seas on nyaa if you search for "pocket monsters"

Ash's entire fight with Leon is over 4 episodes though if you wanna watch all of it, so starting at 129. And he also had a match against both Cynthia and Steven.

Honest opinion, most of the episodes are just fine. But this last one was clearly a huuuuuge step above. So if you don't watch the full tournament, I wouldn't blame you.
