So many of these Yankee homeruns would never happen outside this little league field.
Lol reds no hit the pirates and still lost!

Wait did I just hear that right on my television? Reds pitched a no hitter and still lost lmao?
EDIT: didn’t see Melena’s post lol
I absolutely have to make my way to a Nestor Cortes Jr. game and witness the majesty in person. Dude has been one of the funnest pitchers to watch all season.
Luis Gonzalez of the Giants came in to pitch due to a blowout, and wound up going deep in the 9th inning. Technically he counted as a pitcher for that. At bat and is now the second pitcher this year to homer, the other being Ohtani
The pitcher who gave up the home run, Albert Pujols.

That 1 team that scored an insane amount of runs today, had two 2 run triples in the same inning.
Why did they bring pujols in other than because it's pujols and he probably asked if he could? It seems weird to show off that we're winning this much we'll throw you a gimme and still win

It's the same reason why Rendon took Brett Phillips deep batting from the wrong side of the plate a little while ago. Then Maddon memed and wrote him in as a switch hitter the following game.
Yeah I'm not used to the winning team using a position player to pitch in a blowout
It was 15-2 and managers asked if anyone wanted to pitch just to save having to dip into another bullpen arm from what I read.

I understand in a blow out to use one, but just not for the winning team. That was the odd part

It does make sense for this season. The Cards used a lot of their relief pitchers the prior two games. And most of the league are playing something in the neighborhood of 28 games in 30 days. Dodgers are doing 30 in 31 (RIP Heaney and Kershaw on IL) so anything to get a break to the bullpen is desired.

Nobody else in MLB history has started a season with saves in more than 12 straight appearances, Hader is up to 14 and counting.
I'm also shocked that this record is so few appearances.
They mentioned alot 33/34 for the astros,
It just doesn't seem safe for the pitchers arms in the long run so i guess i get it

Rockies sideline reporter Kelsey Wingert just got blasted in the face by a foul ball, had to pause the game to get her medical attention.
Hmm and Yaz follows up with a HR on the next pitch after they took her out of the dugout.
Not the first time, she got a broken eye socket 4 years ago from a foul ball.
