The new WoW Classic expansion is getting a new playable race "The Skyborne Elves".

These Elves are neutral, so they will be available for both Horde or Alliance, with the Horde getting access to the Shaman, while Alliance will have Mage Skybornes, in addition to the other base classes they can take on.

The Skyborne Elves will be locked behind the Skyborne Heroic Pack. Which will cost you an extra $30 bucks. This doesn't even include beta access..lol

If you want beta access, you will need to buy the Epic pack, which includes everything in the Heroic pack, but also additional cosmetics, Tabards, pets and more.

I'm super excited for WoW Forever, I think it'll be nice to have an MMO wtihout needing to "catch up" since the level cap is going to stay at 60. Also, loving that they're keeping it in Azeroth. I absolutely loathe when WoW expansions go off planet.

The collab with a retroactive Warcraft III campaign DLC is super cool. I got the wow forever deluxe edition bullshit, it comes with the war 3 DLC + a month of game time so I thought it was worth it.

I haven't seriously played WoW since returning for Legion (quit at the end of WotLK before that) but saw all the new WoW cinematics/trailers on my Youtube. It's so hard to keep track of outside of the bubble now. So what is there to play?

Retail (currently on Midnight? Eclipse and Last Titan are the next expansions?)
Classic (base game, or any of the expansions up until Mist or Cata I think?)
Forever (base game classic + new original content?)

Is that right? Are there more? Forever really seemed confusingly revealed on the Youtube comments with lots of people unsure what it was.

Yeah, you got retail WoW and then varying classic WoWs of different expansions. Then I guess season of discovery and hardcore servers

So Forever is less of a classic+ despite what they've said and is more like a Reboot of the OG game like OSRS. It's very much intended to be a new direction for wow that moves away from vertical progression and isn't just going to follow classic. Instead its a completely reimagining of what wow could have been at the start if they had followed the FFXI model of horizontal progression. The raids won't be 40 men, it seems like it's gonna be 10 and 20 like retail and the classes are mostly vanilla but they are trying to make all specs viable, where in classic at least half the specs were completely useless. I wouldn't be shocked if it becomes their main focus over time, because I think it appeals to a lot more than just nostalgia. I for one never got into classic cause I'd already played it all the game was solved. This won't have that problem, cause right from the get go there are new zones, new dungeons, completely different items and new quests. Also the endgame is gonna be different. The endgame will be entirely different as well not just retreading MC and BWL. Also despite some confusion it's free with a sub, the only thing that's behind a paywall is the new race.

As for regular classic there are 4 main modes, there's MoP classic which is the one that keeps advancing to the next expos, though this time they might skip an expo cause legion was a banger and WoD sucked and was cut short. Then there is forever Classic servers that just stay on the level 60 version. And there is also currently a TBC server that may or may not advance to WoTLK at some point.

Then of course there is retail, which is waiting on the next big patch Eclipse, with the next expo being The Last Titan which will be a like a capstone Expo that kind of ends the current rounds of story. Sort of like how endwalker was.
