It’s going exactly the way I thought it would. The more detailed questions being ignored wholly, the technical questions being answered with “can’t do it because of POL/spaghetti code”, and people asking for QOL improvements are being told “no plans at this time.”

One person asked if the XI soundtrack will ever be released on vinyl and they said we’ll let the music dept know, lol

One person asked about bundling XI and XIV subs again and they said they want to do it

Any lore questions are being answered with “yeah, I would like to know too!!”

Someone at least brought up the intentional spike flailing and got a very weak “we’ll look in to it”

Good to see the expected shit topics of "75 ERA SERVER?", "CLUASTRUM IS TOO WEAK!", "XIV SUB COMBO?" etc, while they ignored message priority and refused to answer the same question from Byrth 6 years ago in the last AMA. They answered the XIV sub fee one twice even.

Someone asked about FFXI Offline, they said they've considered it(No Concrete plans) but are worried making it Single Player would essentially have it "Lose the spark" that made it good. "Like a beer thats gone flat". Maybe they can just make it akin to the Crystal Chronicle series, you all have your own character but can Coop with friends? Online Multiplayer has come a long way and the Crystal Chronicle style of In/Out Coop would lend it self well to an MMO adapted to be offline. IDK, it'd just be a shame to lose the world and story if the servers shut down like we did with Mobius Final Fantasy.

Honestly weird this is a problem to have even, such a pale shadow of drama that doesn't compare to the golden years of 75 era CFH wipes. Really though, not sure what kind of weirdly pathetic, sad, man child whos best years are behind him and is desperately grasping to relevancy-through-infamy would even go out of their way to ruin an activity as inconsequential as Domain Invasions.

Probably the same type of person who would claim they totally do it for the lulz like they're still 13 on 4chan.

This was a nice answer. Its the kind of answer that makes you go "Huh, if only Square Enix still gave a shit about XI". Shows what we all already know, the Devs are very interested in making XI amazing they just don't have the money or resources.

I haven't played in a few years now so I'm not up on my dead horses, but an XI/XIV dual sub would get me to log in again since I'm actively playing XIV. Not sure why they haven't done that yet. I know a ton of people from XIV that are interested but are put off by the subscription for an old game. I could probably get my entire shell into 11 if they could come and go as they please.

The problem for me was I'm the person running 3+ accounts so the game was expensive to play and the game at the time (escutcheon intro era) really dictated that you play like that if you want to get anything done. I was shelling out $60+ for the subs to both lol and I have a feeling they really wanted to keep it that way as it's the only thing keeping the game going.

I might've just answered my own question "why haven't they?"
