I just had to laugh because I saw a clip of Kurt Angle’s podcast and he was asked about Bob Holly and his reputation for being a stiff asshole. Kurt was like “nah Bob was always good to me” and I’m like yeah no shit Bob Holly wasn’t gonna try shooting on the Olympic gold medal wrestler lol
Yeah lol. I think people tend to forget because of the gimmick medals and goofy persona throughout the years that Kurt Angle was legit pound for pound one of the best wrestlers on the planet.
I loved when he was on Stone Cold's podcast and he asked about a wrestling match backstage between him and Lesnar and Angle went "well yeah, I won, I mean, no disrespect to the NCAA but the Olympics are here (high hand) and they're like (mid hand)."

And Brock has like a 70-80 pounds and youth on his side and Angle still beat him which says a lot.
I remember during one of the Rumble matches Xavier Woods tried to shoot double leg Angle and Angle just sat on him and had this disgusted look on his face while Corey Graves on commentary was incredulous that Woods even tried.
He pulled the same thing with Gable this year and they had a nice little wrestling match in the middle of the Rumble. Woods won, iirc. Brodie tried the same thing one year, and it didn't go quite as well...
Catching up on the last few weeks of AEW while I was on deployment (well still am, but can at least download stuff while in Guam), the MJF vs Takeshita match was fucking awesome.

Someone on Reddit did their own translation which seems to have a bit more detail/context:
Kyona later posted this thread which seems to confirm the above. With Shigeo's last translation that was posted here, about Mutoh's views on joshi wrestling, I posted a bit of a summary of why I didn't like the translation they did. So I figured I would do a similarish thing here. They seem to have done a good job here.
The interview opens with Rina Yamashita and Maya Yukihi discussing their upcoming event, and they introduce Kyona to make an announcement. Kyona talks about having knee surgery about two years ago, after she missed her last match in STARDOM, and found later that her meniscus had also torn, so she had a second surgery. She later found out that the second surgery did not work, and has been working with doctors to figure out why that happened. She hasn't been able to do any sort of strength training, she thinks she's around 20% of where she should be, and after discussions with her doctor, she's going to wrestle two more matches, March 5th at Zero-1 and April 14th for NOMADS, then go back under for surgery. She's on a lot of painkillers. She does hope to come back. She does plan to return when she can.

Hoping she can recover from the failed surgeries and eventually return to the ring.
So looks like AEW has exercised their right to add time to Kenny Omega’s contract for the time he was injured. It would put his current deal ending in November. Right now there is mutual interest between Omega and WWE. Would be so weird to see Omega in WWE but he’d get that monster AJ Styles like debut at Royal Rumble if they could make it happen.
When Cody jumped a friend of mine asked me who I thought was next and I said Kenny, he thought that was pretty far-fetched at the time. One year later, here we are.

Yeah, it's sounded more and more like AEW kind of got away from the initial vision that the Elite had at the start of the company. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Kenny and the Bucks jump ship.
Some may hinge on who buys WWE.
If it is the Saudis, I can see that turning off Kenny and the Bucks

Roman Reigns in WWE 2k23 is rated 99. The first time in franchise history anyone has ever been rated that high. Yes, even Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker in his many bullshit forms throughout the game’s history has only ever been as high as 98. ACKNOWLEDGE THE TRIBAL CHIEF!

That's kinda funny until you remember it's from a billion dollar company promoting something and not some rando.
Billion dollar or not, still a carny
