It's the exact same thing they did with DMC5 where it's all stuff that can already be earned in game

Non-drama related question, is the beginning of this game a slogfest? I could see them doubling down and making the first thing you do in DD2 be an escort mission twice as long as the first.
My video game decisions are currently dictated by how entertaining they are to a 4 year old. Currently played Dark Souls 1 and almost done with Dark Souls 2 for him, but wanted to maybe play this before moving onto DS3
I wouldn't say so. My first night in game involved being beset by a bunch of ghosts and skeletons and then a random Ogre came and 1shotted my cart ox. Action abound
They basically start you straight out at an outpost. There is an "escort the cart to capital" kinda mission maybe 2-3 hours in, but it's not remotely as long as in the first game.
As someone that never played DD1, is there an overarching story to the game, or is it just a bunch of emergent gameplay? Looked into a few reviews and they don't really touch on story, they just hype up how unexpected everything is and how nothing is scripted. Gameplay looks fun enough to me, just curious if there's actually a meaningful story. Almost finished with Unicorn Overlord and looking for the next thing to sink my teeth into.
DD1 story was pretty basic and barebones but it existed. I haven't played enough of this to tell you if it has improved that or not
ye honestly i don't give a shit about microtransactions (entirely for stuff you can get through playing) or denuvo or the single save file that has the Gamers screeching on Steam. game fuckin slaps through the early hours, erratic af performance with the framerate drops is the only real issue that is impacting my enjoyment so far. patch it up dumbass Capcom your PC ports were all glorious before this.
I don't know how the portcrystals or w/e work but the whole "designed the game with minimal fast travel so you have to journey everywhere" rings hollow when you can just open your wallet. ultimately far from the most egregious, but still a bit wack
i'm not tryna be funny but i can't imagine that impacting one's enjoyment of the game unless you get in your head about it. if you play it for even an hour you can see the game is clearly designed for minimal fast travel, if someone wants to shell out a buck to make it a little easier what the hell do i care. Ferrystones aren't available for microtransaction so fast travel remains limited even if you shell out for Portcrystals to drop fast travel points everywhere, but even if that were not the case so what. who cares. long hair. we're all gonna die. go stab an ogre.
The game gives you portcrystals anyways, but to actually fast travel requires a consumable you can't buy with money.
So glad you can just jump around between classes without worrying about fucking up your min-maxing. Been playing with the various melee options while my pawn is magicing it up
ye it's chama the class / levelling systems are so open and non-punitive re experimentation. i've been a basic bitch fighter thus far but wanna explore magicking it up soon, eventually get myself over to Warfarer to do everything everywhere all at once but currently have no idea how to unlock it (and like it that way)
I haven't started it yet, just on a surface level it sounded like a case of some higher-up forcing in some bs contrary to the intended game design to make a buck, reading how it works it doesn't seem too terrible.
Yeah microtransactions I don't care about unless they try to do Ubisoft bullshit like AC where they let you "earn" it in game but it was crazy time gated. If sticks with how RE and other stuff is then I can't care less about it all. The performance issues though is what is stopping me from grabbing it right now. Got too much other crap anyways I need to finish up so makes it even easier to wait it out for an update.
Being able to hire pawns who can show you where to go on quests really helps with going in blind.
Randomly stumbled upon a guy who gave me a master level Thief skill, which was nice.
Oh yeah enabling dlss3 is pure fucking money, weirdly smoothed out a bunch of the frame spikes too
Only downside is the mod has been causing crashes
Yeah was just coming back to say the game crashed twice in like 15 minutes, so NVM for now
Y'all some complacent mofos lol. I didn't buy DMC5 for those orbs either and this will get similar treatment. Avast ye mateys yo ho ho.
