Need Pawn equivalent of PETA here
Murdering your pawn is a necessary evil when you finally get introduced to the dragon plague mechanic.
man i just got to battahl and this first run to the burrow is rough, jackass griffin following me everywhere and there are way too many golems on the main road, damn
First patch is out on steam, haven't tested myself but internet claiming substantial fps improvement in cities.
man the story in this is just an absolute nothing lol. i just got to the true ending...thing. it was a cool little concept and the fundamentals of the game are good (i was wondering how the hell level 200 is the cap, guess i get it now) but my lord the story is dumb
that being said, goddamn am i a sucker forSpoiler: show
Anyone screwing with trickster yet?
Unlocked it last night and enjoying it much more than I thought. Helps that my own has maelsteom and wrecks everything tbh

Honestly trickster seems like ass to me. You're entirely reliant on your pawns to deal damage and more often than not they fight like idiots.
I've been locked onto Warfarer since getting it. Magic Archer without using any of the skills, Thief with Skull Splitter, and Spearhand with Foin and the shield.
Spearhand skills give me traversal and the invulnerability, magic Archer gives me ranged damage plus an option for enemies resistant to physical, and Thief+Skull Splitter to just melt everything
I feel you on the damage dealing aspect which is literally non-existent. I'm enjoying acting like a bard - grouping enemies, buffing my pawns, and scaring the shit out of enemies with a big ass smoke dragon

I hate trickster for one reason and one reason alone: pawns can't use it therefor I can't create the ultimate treasure hunter pawn
the true ending is such a wet fart, what the fuck lol. this game was uh, certainly something. i can't say i didnt enjoy the moment to moment gameplay but goddamn just about everything else was wtf worthy
I'm amused how if you just the Speedrun the beacons the game is like "cool you're done" and gives you the achievement even if you've completely ignored the evacuation stuff
I want thief in every game to play like this. Feels so vicious and effective, and you've got just the right bit of tools to keep yourself safe and in the fight. At least until a sorcerer fills your screen with particle effects and you don't know what's going on. XD Archer is...effective I guess? Doinking weak points nonstop with steady shot is effective if you go the aim and tracking, but it just doesn't feel very fun to play. The kick off escape move didn't feel very useful for getting myself out of dodge if the fighter/soldier failed to taunt.
I think I've put about 40~ hours in and I haven't even explored much outside of the Vernworth area yet.
Archer paired up with a sorcerer to cast Augural Flare (or doing both roles yourself as a Warfarer) is a downright unethical amount of damage.
Otherwise Archer feels kinda.. eh
Dark Arisen Expansion + Switch 2 release due out on Oct 9.
Spoiler: show
There'll be two updates in the lead-up to it also. First one being a QoL update with a reusable ferrystone, and the other being performance updates, which boy-howdy the game will need it to have any hope of not running garbage on Switch 2.
They took their sweet time getting this announced given the game will be what, two and a half years old by the time it lands?
Just seen this on the steam news thingy and had to do a double take cause at first i just thought it was about the first game...giving your sequel dlc of the same name as the first is certainly a choice.
Hopefully does for this one what it did for the first.
Lol I saw this on the Switch store page and just assumed Dragons Dogma 1 + its expansion was getting a Switch release finally. (I had no idea if it already had one or not.)
I have a Switch 2 now, and still haven’t gotten around to playing DD2, so maybe this is the version I’ll pick up.
