Fairer to say that I have differing interests. I am more interested in overall progression of the country and it's people. Seeing as the direction we continue does come from the people to some extent.
I am not obsessing over abortion, taxing the wealthy as if that solves the issue, weed, AoC in a crosswalk, the opioid crisis, the supreme court, culture wars, or the future of social security. I'm not going to hold out hope that dramatic healthcare or grand education reform is going to happen. Everyone else is holding out hope, it appears. I have accepted that such concessions do not come from the ballot box. Even if they do then they are steadily picked away at until they are gone or at least effectively so.

I think the main problem is Spicy is of the mind that a huge sweeping change can just magically happen the second one group gets voted into power, instead of the very real fact it's going to take many years of incremental changes to build up to the big sweeping changes.
