Trump told Fox today that he's going to be present at the Supreme Court on Wednesday for arguments on Birthright Citizenship.
No sitting president has ever appeared before the Supreme Court during oral arguments in the history of the United States.
Also kinda seems like a security risk for the president and the entire supreme court justices to be in one location together
C'mon Sonya. Take one for the team.
I doubt they security check you closely!
I hope he suddenly stands up and interrupts while they are talking and goes off on some crazy rant.
Also, Trump had teased attending the previous tariff hearings before TACO-ing and then losing that case.
It basically means that if he shows up, the outcome is already decided. He wants to project strength and pretend his presence actually changes things. More likely, he knew he was going to lose on the tariff issue, so he stayed away to avoid looking weak or non-intimidating.
Live audio of the hearing, for the sickos
Am I hearing this correctly, are they suggesting excluding Native Americans from citizenship? Or they saying because they have an exception that newborns could be excluded through an exception?
I’ve been following along and alito is a gigantic piece of shit. he even basically said at one point that brown people shouldn’t have birthright citizenship but the whites are cool (he brought up iranians and and was asked to then compare them to europeans)
it seems like at the very least roberts and gorsuch aren’t having any of this
So is Trump there or no?
reports are he was there, sat in the general assembly area, and left early
I was expecting him to get bored and fall asleep but close enough
Trump's daddy was a birthright citizen, wasn't he?
Also, I don't think we are the only country with birthright citizenship, but go on king.
