Little late but better than never
Unfortunately realizing it still isn't doing it. More may figure it won't but it still won't happen. So strap in.
Don't forget May 1st fake protest day too

Like, when it's so clear and obvious how do you not get enraged at everything from the system, to the apathy, to the people lying to themselves as if our political safe guards actually work as intended
This all fucking sucks and doesn't seem to be slowing down

It’s going to accelerate rapidly. The worse their national position gets the more they’re going to do.
To be real tho. The easiest way to not be enraged is to be unaffected. Maybe not long term but right now. Just hand wave it away once again as a pattern that’ll blow over. Kids college fund is all paid for. I’m rich. Nbd right?
If you are wealthy it won't have an effect on you. Everything they are doing is to benefit the wealthy. Their long term plan that started during the Regan administration is finally coming to fruition. The rest of us are so fucked.
it pretty much comes down to focusing on what you can control, and letting the things you cannot control be what they are. let the feelings exist, do not shove them down, work with them (art, therapy, religion, journaling, whatever works) - but don't let them take over. it takes a lot of practice. ironically, people who are complex trauma survivors tend to do really well during times like this because they have mastered that skill.
The most cathartic thing you can do is accept that there ain't shit you can do about it. Being upset about it all day every day accomplishes nothing.
You can whine and cry and march and scream about laws and the courts but it does absolutely nothing. And hoping he'll die and the problem will magically solve itself is fucking pathetic.
it wont fix the problem but it'll make me happy for a bit

Louisiana primaries will be delayed or cancelled to ensure that the redistricting that was killed by SCOTUS can't affect the midterms.
Welcome back Jim Crow 2.0. Grandfather clause, literacy tests, etc. Just gotta hide the racism and everything is a-ok.
You don't have to hide the racism at all. You get more GOP support, especially from the base, by being open about it.
Dramatically underselling it. This ruling essentially means the GOP can establish whatever rules they want and when challenged the justices will rule no matter what that they serve a partisan purpose rather than a racial one, and when Democrats try to do the same they'll get the opposite ruling.

That right there. That's the major problem. Now representatives can literally pick their constituents whenever they want, so if they're unpopular in their district they can redraw it to eliminate any concern over being primaried or booted out.
They'll draw Lawrence into its own district so that they get 1 representative meanwhile the equivalent population of 20 other counties will get 19 representatives, for example. Way beyond gerrymandering. It's legalized and sanctioned cheating, basically.
Also means they won't have to spend much (any?) money campaigning since they can just pick a candidate for a district that will win by virtue of party affiliation alone.
Not like that's not already happening. Campaign ads ad nauseum from Dems talking about how much they're outraising their opponent. Then they lose to said opponent by 15 points.
It's perfect for the GOP because they can then save all of that money and give it directly to Donald Trump, which keeps the base even happier - since they'd rather he have money than themselves - and the machine keeps on running. Barely even have to lift a finger.
The House just needs to move to an entirely different method of choosing representatives. If 40% of a state votes one way, they need to have close to 40% representation in the House, not 0-15% as is the case in a lot of States. But that will never happen of course. The entire history of this nation has been politicians doing sneaky or blatant shit to keep power and dilute voter representation.

The whole representative system is obsolete and needs to go. The idea that the legislature makes decisions that affect all Americans yet the people who ultimately make those decisions are only accountable to less than one percent of them needs to be done away with.
