It was essentially 5-4 as Kavanaugh said he dissents with the idea but didn't consider it a court responsibility, rather a federal one.
This is merely a delay of the inevitable, they are going to eventually get rid of birthright citizenship, probably some time into the third term.

But also needed 60 for SCOTUS, no?
That wouldn't have been necessary. The MAGA movement didn't have nearly the influence it does now, and if she had stepped down when she was urged to, many of the 5-4 decisions we've seen over the past decade likely never would have happened.
Yes, you can blame McConnell for some of it, but that's like blaming a dog for shitting on the floor. He acted exactly how everyone expected him to. The bigger issue is that she didn't do what she should have done. She held on because she wanted to keep the position and the power that came with it, and the rest of us ended up paying the price.
Maybe the SC shouldn't be lifetime appointments.
I don't even wanna hear about the filibuster, they're never going to nuke the fucking filibuster.
Biggest red herring in politics, we could be genociding our own population and they'd be having some dumb fucking debate in DC about how it might just be a bridge too far.
