I had to endure her today for a visit. She simply can't help herself since she eats and breathes fox news, so she brings up Rowe. I knew this was coming. I told her it was shameful, talked about her daughters struggle with miscarriages and how it would affect her. She doesnt give a fuck...dead babies and all. So I trudge forward, ask her if she thought they should overturn gay marriage and reinstate sodomy laws. Of-fucking-course she does. I tell her it would be a real shame for her daughter to get arrested a couple times a week for something she's so good at.

I wonder if it's just a self fulfilling prophecy that Americans have trapped themselves in the two party system. Plenty of people agree with 3rd party or independent candidates but get berated into the it's a wasted vote or they have no chance of winning . Then people get dejected enough and vote for one of the two parties or not at all. Then they get blasted with you can't vote for someone young because they don't have the experience or relationships in congress to get things done and if you don't vote for them doom and gloom (which has happened). Just curious at what point do Americans break from the shackles of the two party nonsense. Probably never because Republicans have gone full fascism and not voting for democrats just helps Republicans erode the failing project faster. Then you have the people who scream the left and right are just the same. Or those that say the left is too radical and naive and the infighting for weird, mundane reasons, while Republicans are actively working to undo decades of civil rights.

It's interesting to watch it crash and burn around us.

If a third party backed by an ACTUAL EX-PRESIDENT who was TREMENDOUSLY POPULAR failed to be more than a spoiler a century ago, before modern political gamesmanship cultivated the art of tricking idiots to waste their votes on third party candidates, then there is absolutely 0% chance one could do anything positive today.

And if she has then the mother isn't respecting those boundaries and at that point if a person isn't respectful of the boundaries you set or establish regarding your home and family, cut them out your life

It's an odd relationship. Her mom's a cancer survivor and a widow. I wouldn't call her a bad or toxic person, just older, alone, and incredibly susceptible to propaganda. My wife is the youngest of 3 girls. She was the only one living with her mom when my wife's dad passed away. Her absolute batshit craziness is rather new. She was a 2x Obama voter who then voted for Trump and since, has dug her feet way in. Sarah's two older sisters are over their mom. They've banned political talk in their homes. Both of them are quite liberal as well. They and I get along incredibly well. But unlike them, I'll entertain the nonsense, so I'm partially at fault too.
