Outside of political views, which admittedly have encompassed her, she's pretty chill. Likes to bake the wacky weed and bring over cooking experiments. I actually do have some sympathy for her. As I said, older, alone, uneducated, fell victim to the fox news machine and difficult to pull back. Things are difficult for her now and we're much easier 30 years ago, so a news station constantly reinforcing that we should go back to that can be enticing. I don't think she's completely at fault.

I look at situations like this, where some kind of social media or news propaganda has influenced a family members behavior (which isn't addressed at all in DSM and that needs to change) a lot like how I view mental health issues. It may not be entirely your fault, but it is your responsibility to try to control it. By most accounts, she stays pretty straight and narrow while visiting her other children. Like I said, partially my fault for continuing to entertain her. Not the best way to handle it, but in for a penny, in for a pound I guess (terrible psych advice, I know).

The guy is sleeping on the couch as punishment for asserting himself in defense of his wife and values in his own house. What part of that outcome yells "mad respect"? He shouldn't be sleeping on the couch and there should have been boundaries established.

So my mother-in-law and I do not get along well. She disrespected my job, then asked me to write her a script for ivermectin, I called her a fucking moron...there's a history.

I had to endure her today for a visit. She simply can't help herself since she eats and breathes fox news, so she brings up Rowe. I knew this was coming. I told her it was shameful, talked about her daughters struggle with miscarriages and how it would affect her. She doesnt give a fuck...dead babies and all. So I trudge forward, ask her if she thought they should overturn gay marriage and reinstate sodomy laws. Of-fucking-course she does.
