Found out about this from Reddit and I'm seeing comments about how the fetus should be able to be claimed as a dependent among other things. I'm curious to see how this turns out, especially since it's in Texas.

"noted pro choice advocate" is a weird way to say "abortion provider" - which was clear in the original story.

It's true that the abortion doctor in the story is declining to comment further to the media about her alleged 10 year old rape victim whose pregnancy she aborted.

But I mean...should she?

The Bottom Line

This is a very difficult story to check. Bernard is on the record, but obtaining documents or other confirmation is all but impossible without details that would identify the locality where the rape occurred.

With news reports around the globe and now a presidential imprimatur, however, the story has acquired the status of a “fact” no matter its provenance. If a rapist is ever charged, the fact finally would have more solid grounding.

I have indeed seen pregnant 10-11 year old patients that were rape victims throughout my career. It could totally be legit.

Or it could be the Ghost of Kyiev all over again. Don't know. Calling it fake is a stretch.
