While I'd say getting arrested at a protest is a step above "Thoughts and prayers!" when it comes to giving a shit about issues, this ultimately goes back to both attempt legislation to do something about a given problem and making it very obvious the GOP is the cause for failure when it doesn't work out. Both aspects are where the Dems drop the ball and among the reasons for leftist apathy and disdain.

Could simply evaluate the track record of the democratic party in this instance. Their greatest success has been in protecting the position of free market capitalism and preventing change.

It takes some real balls made of hollow glass to defend Pelosi in general. Someone who talks about cleaning up corruption. Only to flat out state "no, muh free market" to banning congress members like herself from owning stocks in individual companies in the wake of insider trading from COVID and conflicting interests. Who has clearly engaged in self-enrichment for both her and her husband. Whether its delaying bills for private interests or beating the average market returns of 10-15% with a what, 74% average return? Who votes against tribal issues and rights. Who supports federal incentives of mass incarceration with Omnibus. So on and so forth only to kneel down and pose as some civil rights activist for a picture when it is politically convenient.

Pelosi is endemic of an establishment party that puts itself first. You guys seem to be unaware of what actual fighting for you looks like due to an absence of it from our elected officials. How about impactful legislation and getting out there to mobilize their constituents and twist arms and spend some favors instead of going "but the Republicans!" everytime. Even then that be close to the minimum as that's their fucking job in the first place.

We should at least rise to the level of an 11 year old Harry Potter. Who can better determine who their friends are after meeting Malfoy for the first time. Somehow we keep eating up the same rhetoric from the same party that fails to produce results.

Apparently excuses in the face of a stagnant and decaying American empire and it's politicians is the best we can do.
