That's basically what has been happening for years and it's why you keep seeing people call for moving back to red states to turn them purple/blue.

But it's not just the GOP making shit policies and laws, bluer states tend to have better economic opportunities so that also leads to red states getting more political capital.

I don't blame any of them (note: that CAN move) for moving; I will be moving for sure eventually myself barring massive federal change, but liberal activism in conservative areas is absolutely crucial. Kansas really doesn't swing conservative though; it's only red because of rural Kansas and rich people in Sedgwick and Johnson County who are afraid of their taxes going up. The more urban areas are overwhelmingly liberal and have been electing liberal politicians more and more. Even amongst the conservative bloc this isn't wildly popular because Kansas is already impossibly tough to get an abortion in (22 weeks with a lot of restrictions, and they ask if you want to watch the ultrasound they mandate to add to it) compared to other states. A full-out change to the constitution is just to pander to the ultra religious nitwits in Wichita and further West.

The real reason we have "red" senators is because they don't ever hail from liberal areas. The moderate choice for senator last election, Dr. Bollier, was actually a really good choice but wasn't riding the Trump Train and was ousted from the party (she switched) because of it. She opposed Dr. Marshall, who is a piece of shit, and lost ever so hugely in the process. The other one is Jerry Moran, who is also a huge douche. It doesn't help that KS' largest congressional district comprises about 60% of the state, and is ALL Western Kansas.

I would say that if the hope of PoC depends on maintaining their federal benefits by voting for liberals. Then they will remain hopelessly trapped in the hole they were kicked down in the first place. People bring up "enabling the party they hate in fear", but only for Republicans apparently. Such like-kinded sentiment is eaten up around here as people seem to be on the same page, but this is no different. The democratic party champions the Neoliberalism that put PoC disproportionately in the situation they are in.

God, while I understand the anger, understand the feeling of not mattering even though you matter strongly, the actual fuck are you expecting here? Look at the actual fucking calculus here. You have two choices. You have a party that sometimes tries to give a shit about you, and a party that actively wants you to be slaves again. The FUCK do you think is the point of even considering flirting with voting Republican? What is the god damn point in that? Will it make the Democrats care about you more? No. Will it make your lives any better? No. Will it harm you SIGNIFICANTLY as we have seen in this thread? YES.

Everyone who makes these grandiose statements about doing anything but continuing to try to vote for the side that at least SOMEWHAT gives a shit about you is beyond stupid. There is no other game in town. There is no alternative. There is no third party that can win. It's not going to fucking happen and you are delusional if you think otherwise. The ONLY path forward with ANY benefits is to try to work with the system that is NOT going away. Period. Malcolm was a smart man, but not being able to see the very big picture is stupid.

I feel like this entire philosophical argument can be completely dismissed with a single question: "Okay, what are you going to do instead?"
