What I don't understand about that situation is that supposedly she just needed written consent from her legal guardian to her Physician to proceed with the procedure and it says right in the article that her guardian is ok with it. So why did it go to the court in the first place?
From what I saw on reddit concerning this, she's under the care of the state, so sounds more like the guardian is more of a foster, and state has final say.

Remember the group prayer football coach who got SCOTUS to give him his job back?
Well, he's been too busy traveling the wingnut welfare circuit to actually do the job so his team has been playing without him.

He stopped coaching there in 2015
Yeah, the school was told to offer him the job back, which they did, and he didn't take it.
Yes, he abandoned his team a long time ago pursuing this stunt for attention

How can you have an honest debate when you can't even agree on the very clear and obvious facts?
It's a random anecdote, but I'm reminded of the George Floyd happenings when it was very clear the cops acted wrong but, even here, people swore up and down it was all kosher, he was clearly resisting (he wasn't), he was clearly not sitting in the car (he was), etc, and it's like how can we even come to an honest understanding of each other if one side consistently just pretends there's 5 lights instead of 4?

If it made it all the way to the supreme court, I feel like it would have come out in the 7 years it's been working through the court system if he was clearly lying about them not wanting to re-hire him.
My understanding is that no he wasn't fired, but he was put on suspension and then they made it very clear to him that he would not be rehired come next season (since it seems like the Bremerton school system only had coaches on yearly contracts).
But I guess that's just me and my "both sides" schtick
They never considered re-hiring him
Ah, the ol' "nah they're the ones that are lying" defense
Not that anyone would recall, but I was on this guy's side at first before more context came out and it became clear it was all for the likes and social media.
