How can you have an honest debate when you can't even agree on the very clear and obvious facts?

It's a random anecdote, but I'm reminded of the George Floyd happenings when it was very clear the cops acted wrong but, even here, people swore up and down it was all kosher, he was clearly resisting (he wasn't), he was clearly not sitting in the car (he was), etc, and it's like how can we even come to an honest understanding of each other if one side consistently just pretends there's 5 lights instead of 4?

No I left because the only person left modding this forum kept constantly suspending/banning me for just giving my opinion. Which isn't surprising because the majority of the people left posting here are incredibly radical. Anything you say contrary to their group think will paint a target on you and they will do anything to disparage your character. I'll never forget the awe I had when I think it was Bryth that had said "Draylo is always contrary to the group think, hes not worth responding to." I can't believe that people like to have some kind of hivemind when discussing things on a forum, really scary stuff. The next step was trying to "cancel" me somehow or attack me in RL surely. I used to love posting here but it stopped being fun when in 2020's people still have that dumb "angry poster" attitude and try to silence anything that disagrees with them by shouting them down and insulting. I also came to realize theres too many far left posters too, so it just became one sided and really boring.

Lol, I like the literal example of AoC primarying and winning against Crowley to be some invalid example. Excuse me, but why the fuck not? It's this extreme defeatist rhetoric and self-fulfilling prophecies that lead to it being declared invalid.
No one is saying turning the absolute Republican strongholds into leftist primaries. Even then, why not? What's there to lose by spreading such ideas in these areas via a campaign? You act as if any remotely left candidate is impossible. It's why the Dems are like dogs chasing their own tails.
The rank and file of the Democratic party behave as sympathetic Republicans with a guilty conscience and sensitive hollow virtues.

Becasue it doesn't matter in the long run unless AOC like candidates can win outside heavily progressive strongholds like New York. I'd shut my trap if far left candidates were actually taking seats in purple states like the rust belt but it just ain't happening.

And when the far left push lets the right win people who are relying on government programs and assistance instantly pay. But as I've said elsewhere you seem to be privileged enough to not have to worry about such things so you just stand atop your ivory tower telling people who can't afford to lose elections what assholes they are.

It's almost as if the DNC conspires against such individuals and favors those of the center(-right) bloc. All while right-wing McCarthyism and fearmongering does its thing. It's not that these people don't exist or are unelectable. The system knows they're a danger to its current existence because we're aware of the late stage capitalist bullshit, constitutional antiquity, and myriad social regressions. A mayor or clerk here and there isn't going to change the country. The goal remains a federal presence because we obviously can't trust all individual states to do the Right Thing(tm).

In general, theres no secret the majority of posters here lean hard left. You should still be capable of having respectful debates or you'll just continue to push people out and it will get boring. That feeling when someone actually has a realistic take for once.

Its really simple though. The primary party served by both parties is capital. The rest is just noise as a result. There's no real immigration reform unless it better suits capital. There is no real environment or racial justice unless it overcomes capital. The economic policy differences between the two parties in most elections are not significantly different. It takes a dismantling of the illusion that the Dems are any sort of leftist party or that they care about the working class of this country before we get somewhere.
