Stop entertaining that fucking idiot and stop bumping this thread during a crucial week unless there’s new info.
When the DOE is putting out suicide watch notices it's kind of a spoiler for how the student loan decision is gonna go.

Well... not going to have to worry about inflation soon...
They paused loan interest for years at this point and inflation effectively reduced the debt balance as well, so even if these loans restart tomorrow people should be in a much better financial position.
Imo if you graduate from college and believe that Biden had the ability to unilaterally deliver student loan forgiveness in this political environment maybe the college should have to pay off your loan balance because you clearly didn't learn anything.
I literally have no worries about paying off debt. I'm worried about the people I serve, what they'll think, and that they'll vote for dumb shits that will make it even worse.
It'll look like posturing and I'm sure most of the folks who didn't have faith in the first place will say "nyeh he should have been honest and said it couldn't be done" after saying "he can do it so why isn't he".
I never believed it was going to go one way or another, because most Democrat voters don't respond to the lack of messaging with enthusiasm anyway yet still complain they didn't get what they wanted.
I still think sweeping change is needed in many areas and have come to appreciate incrementalism but your average voter isn't thinking about tomorrow they're thinking about now.
I'm not worried about starting payments again personally, we have been investing the money we would normally pay and will have it ready to take out a large % of my wife's loans.
My worry, and please correct me if I'm wrong, is that the massive amount of money that is being spent right now thanks to the pause is going to suddenly stop. A huge jerk in that direction will most likely start sending us into a recession.
If student loan debt forgiveness did happen, what a good 40% of those people could keep spending money as they have been? This would lessen the impact of a possible recession if we even had one.
If it gets slapped down, that is a large number of people who will no longer have the income to go out and spend money. the majority of the impact will happen right before a big election cycle, and even tho they can point to the right and say it is their fault, that isn't going to matter to a lot of people who just look at the President is and blame him for it 100%.
But have you considered that unemployment is 4%?
I’m not worried about paying them back, but I’m going to be fucking livid after refinancing my wife’s FFELP loan to a government loan at a higher interest rate because the DoE said that it had to be done to get forgiveness for FFELP loans…only to have the rug pulled out.
I can’t see how there won’t be a lawsuit from others that did the same based on guidance from the DoE.
never shoulda believed in gov't shortcuts fella
Welp, here we go...maybe. Praise be to the lack of standing gods.
Grof v Dejoy re working on Sundays is penned by Alito...so that can't be good.
University case drop. Penned by Roberts.
Decision is that Harvard is going to be 95% Asian and the blacks are fucked.
That's last decision of the day. Loan forgiveness is going to drop on the last day...on a Friday.
Time to buy puts in the whole ass economy.
Republicans are going scorched earth. They are really trying hard to punish women and POCs for voting for Democrats. Im sure this will help the Republicans get elected. LOL
