First up for today was the abortion pill case. Plaintiffs lack standing, nothing changes for abortion pill access. Unanimous decision. Written by Kavanaugh and concurrence written by Thomas. No one had that on their bingo card.

Hey, don't let Congress or state legislatures off the hook. A major reason there is so much left open to interpretation is that no one wants to sign their name off on anything that could be used as a soundbite against them later so everyon ekeeps things vague and counts on the courts to make actual statements.

Surprisingly, Court upholds the tax in Moore vs. U.S., which allows taxation on foreign corporations. The big deal however was that the Moore argument would have crippled the IRS because it would have eliminated the authority necessary for collecting a bunch of other taxes.

7-2 at that. Been a mildly surprising term, moreso with how the justices split than the actual results. It's just the calm before they kill Chevron and remand the immunity case to a lower court for the decision on "official acts", delaying everything until after inauguration.
