he did it for the Supreme Court precisely in retaliation for Dems doing it for federal judges / Secretary positions which was in retaliation for Republican obstructionism etc

you can certainly believe McConnell would have violated that specific Congressional norm without such precedent but the record is clear it was in retaliation to Democratic transgressions in what has become an accelerated and increasingly partisan race to the bottom

You're not happy with Biden, which is small incrementalism moving forward, whereas Trump (or any R) is many steps backwards. There's no other mysterious 3rd choice here, so it's obvious which choice is the better one.
