Just wanted everyone to get the idea of the massive destruction that is going on right now in Ukraine.


If Russia is at fault for this. It signals and shows extreme panic. These measures 100% indicate they are terrified and or know that there was a push coming down across the Dnipro or in that area. This buys them time. They already know what happens when they get pushed across the border. If their own people get their hands on them it will be a lynching. If they try to flee and are found by countries with a conscience they will be arrested for war crimes regarding children, looting and more. This dam being blown is just another rock on the scale for them.

BUT

It also signifies that they know full well it will involve Ukrainian forces rushing in to save people. Thus taking vital manpower from the counter offensive. While Ukraine may look like the good guys here in doing what any normal human would in saving those in need; it will force them to pull thousands off of the lines or from units that would otherwise be moving towards this offensive that is coming.

If Russia has done this, as evil as it is. It is tactically sound because it gives them breathing room for a few weeks. It shuts down the counter offensive and creates an almost impenetrable barrier while also allowing them to move up supplies and transfer manpower around to try to stymie whatever counter offensive Ukraine is attempting. All of the planned attacks will now need to be rewritten or face added manpower from the Russian side.

If Russia is responsible, they are scared; they are also expecting the worst and as such are preparing for it. This is or will be just one of a few things they will throw at Ukraine to try to stop the inevitable.
