Yeah, Russia nuking itself is the major potential downside. Otherwise, this draws forces away from the front and ties then up with internal conflict.
Btw, all accounts are that he is mostly right about Putin. Putin's personal worldview is incredibly warped and got much more untethered from reality in the last decade due to the influence of weird alternative historians.
