Certain conditions or predispositions to diseases are more common for certain ethnicities due to genetics, afaih.

Some of that is true and some of it isn't. We're finding out that Hispanics and African Americans are more prone to diabetes or high blood pressure because they're more likely to have a shitty diet due to systemic poverty.

Some ethnicities do have a genetic predisposition to intolerance, for example certain Asians lack the enzyme needed to break down alcohol properly thus don't tolerate it well. Certain African descendents are allergic to blood pressure medications.

As spicy said, genetics plays a huge role and can change your body's sensitivity to medicines and illnesses but it's not necessarily ethnicity specific anymore.
