In general the US interferes in any election it views as part of it's core strategic interests. Which can sometimes be broad in scope, such as banana production. Any tool is on the table up to and including violence. With plenty of track record you can go look up.
I specifically cited the obvious and relevant example of '96. As Russians like Putin care about in the context of the matter. I'm overall asserting it's not some one-off, but a regular global even of which the US is unparalleled in.

So when I see whining about another country in elections I see it is an utterly blind double standard at best.
