Even for mindless entertainment, this wasn't very good.

I think one of my biggest issues was the lack of flashy fatalities - something Mortal Kombat is known for. I don't expect an amazing, or even decent, plot. I expect great visuals. The fight scenes were also not great, they looked like one of Johnny Cage's movies. lol

If they make a 3rd movie where they bring back their friends, I hope they lean more in to the Finishers. Go all out and add Animalities, Babalities and even Friendship (between Sonja and Kano lol). Make it completely over the top. Just stop trying to be so serious and embrace the outlandish aspect that players love.

Do I regret watching it? No.
Would I watch it again? Also no.

I don’t even know how someone thinks the fight choreography was good. It was one of the worst parts of the film. There is a scene with Liu Kang and 2 others in the background sparing and I legit thought maybe the actors werent aware they were in the shot…it was so awful lol.

The absolute worst part of this film is Raiden and the actor who plays him. The very definition of downgrade from the old movies to this.

Just watched it and this is basically my take.

But I agree that I wouldn't really care to watch it again. Was just a round of fan service.
