The only thing that doesn’t automatically hate this move- which I still do dislike, is that they say he is playing Victor Von Doom and not Tony Stark. Still an innumerable amount of actors I’d rather see play him instead. And making him an avengers movie so close to release date is another questionable thing. Can’t wait to see how they just drop Kang from massive threat to nothing. Unless that end credit scene in the TVA was that moment lol

I think people are worried he’s just going to be Tony Stark variant instead of his own character.

I got that but that's not how they have presented it. He was introduced as Victor von Doom, not Dr Doom.

I'll be surprised if they go the variant route.

They really need to drop the entire alternate timelines thing. It’s fun at first, and great for stories that use its premise to the fullest, but most of it has fallen flat and I don’t really see it as anything but floundering in the future.

The problem is that it becomes tiring because it lowers the stakes for everything that isn't multiversal and it makes final resolutions impossible because you never know what's lurking. They opened the door in Endgame and threw it wide open with Multiverse.
