They at least gave us the courtesy of getting rid of the crafting % chance cancer they originally had

I'm waiting until I hear about the droprates on rare gear at end-game. I'm not pulling the 5% drop on an enemy that has a 15% chance to spawn on this floor of this super-dungeon again, Matsuno. Having to CODA-scum and kill the enemy on every fucking floor tile on the map for a shot at the item... nah.

Did it twice. Not doing it again. I'll wait. If those items just drop in the post-battle loot pool, that's fine. I'll grind for that, but wasting 40 minutes per item trying to scum them because Matsuno is obsessed with hilariously low and obscure droprates in his games is for the fucking birds. I love your stories, bro, but you should NOT be in charge of that aspect of your games.
The way they changed crafting and made deneb's recruitment way easier makes me thinks they probably fixed this too, but who knows.

ugh, no idea when I am going to play this. I bought it on Steam but with god of war and several other items in the queue, this will probably be months down the line.

Not 100% sure but I think if a unique character is NOT the stage target, don't kill them. I'm in the law route and I accidentally killed one thinking they would teleport out/or I could chariot tarot to the turn before and it actually started a cutscene. So now they won't join me later on since they're dead

    Thanks.

Is battle exp affected by how many enemies I kill? Or is it sometimes better to just go straight for the target?

In the last one you got a slight bonus if I remember correctly but since now the game has soft level caps, you can always just train to reach it. I always kill enemies because they *can* drop equipment/magic that you don't currently have access to. Nothing that'll break the game but it's a good bonus. And also the fact that gold is pretty hard to come by in the game, I'd suggest getting all the loot you can get.

Also, if there are beasts, I'd make sure you kill them all since they drop crafting materials. Or convert a few here and there cuz they make great tanks with their giant ass HP pool

Oh and if you see a fairy, check it's class because if it's a rogue you won't be able to convert it. Rogues aren't playable classes in the game so don't waste your time trying weaken/baby it to convert it

Oh thats right, I noticed the soft level caps after I posted that. I guess it's not that big a deal. I got my ass handed to me in the fight against the Necromancer. I guess I should gain a couple levels before retrying

The necromancer fight doesn't need to be done as soon as it comes up either, you can go back to almorica and some easier fights will pop up if you don't feel like training. If you do train you will be level capped for like 3 more maps.

Is there any benefit in staying in classes I don't plan to play on a character? FFT had abilities you could learn. Do learned skills carry over to other classes?

Naw, the only ones that carry over would be weapon skills. Some share skills but you can't mix and match things like in FFT

I think your class determines stat gains though so if you stayed a warrior or whatever and then went the mage route, your shits gunna suck

Oh, another reason to kill all the mobs is for tarot card drops. These give perm boosts to stats.

    Got it.

Also any recommended route to do first or just do whichever I prefer and go back for the others?

The optimal or rather easiest to do is Law first, since you get the strongest character in the game in that route so it makes doing subsequent routes easier. That said I think any route is fine, but Neutral first will be by far the hardest.

i don't want to say anyone is playing any game wrong but if you're choosing the branching narrative paths because of what's optimal and character recruitment you would be playing the game terribly wrong. game's enduring strength is its narrative and how your decisions shape it.

with the World System you can go back and experience every path / catch em all, until then strongly recommend choosing your war crimes with consideration given only to God Denam and the good of the Walister

You have CODA, so you can go back and literally re-do EVERY event. You can always go back and grab everything *eventually*, even if you have to go back to the big split mission (I won't spoil). Just play for now.

I don't remember the acronym; its basically the "rewind" mechanic of the game that lets you not only rewind turns, but once you beat the game, to rewind to previous chapters. Its how you get every character in the game, because you can only get certain characters on certain routes. That's all I'll say about it.

Was the difficulty rebalanced any to accommodate not having to grind up individual classes?
