“Phyllis from Mulga” of Paul Finebaum show fame has died
Full list of new rules and changes for 2023 is up on Reddit, I’m not gonna go through them all but a few that caught my eye
Consecutive timeouts not allowed during dead ball period. Meant to stop multiple icing the kickers.
On a 4th down or 2 point try, if the ball is fumbled, only the original runner or receiver may recover and attempt to advance. If anyone else recovers, play is dead.
On a punt attempt if the ball goes 5 yards beyond the line of scrimmage and punter still attempts a kick, example a high snap or fumble, the defense cannot be called for roughing the kicker if he is tackled while kicking. They can still be called for targeting, though.
This is clearly because of the whole "cheez-its vs cheez-it crackers" debacle
Sounds like the Pac 12 is close to being done-zo.
Coach Prime, Arizona, ASU, and Utah are apparently ready to bolt back to the Big 12, with discussions having been going on for a while.
can we please rename conferences based on the number of teams in them
remember when the Big 12 was the Big 8 way back before we got this permaboner over branding
didn’t even notice usc/ucla at the end there at first, still feels weird (and stupid)
Yeah, little miffed MSU/Penn State wasn't preserved. Like how theyre also about the nix UGA/Auburn game in SEC play.
Ohio State only having one guaranteed rivalry game seems weird too, could’ve thrown penn state there as well.
LSU forced to vacate wins from 2012-2015 season for using an ineligible player. The vacated wins lowers Les Miles career win percentage to .597, juuuuuust shy of the .600 winning percentage required to be eligible for the college football hall of fame.
if you haven’t heard about the northwestern hazing scandal, all you need to know is a couple days ago Pat Fitzgerald got hit with a two week suspension in the middle of the summer, then more details came out and welp
