What kinda boggles my mind is Washington and Washington State (and afaik Oregon/Oregon State) are both state owned universities, and letting the one school leave completely fucks over the smaller institution also owned by the state.

where are they getting “regularly ranked in the 100s in all sports” ranking from? Rutgers is good at a lot of sports that aren’t football (men and women’s basketball, baseball, wrestling, lacrosse off the top of my head)

plus it’s hard to be “the worst move” when it still got the big ten network into the NYC market. it even mentions that in the article!

if anything it’s a problem for Rutgers since they still have not recouped the money from leaving the big east. the $240 million of debt number is a literal guess in the article after he says $60mil or so
