There’s still a lot of stuff for the EU and JP fan fests.

A whole ass year or more, ugh. Don’t think I’ll be resubbing until very close to launch and then I’ll just roll from 6.55 content right into launch.

The New World is not surprising but I thought for sure there was gonna be Merycadia and Corvos as well. That it seems to be fully engrossed in the new world is surprising. I do stan for Mamool Ja though.

Interesting question from fan fest media Q&A. Someone asked Yoshi P if it was possible to buy & play the FF Pixel Remasters in XIV via the gold saucer or an arcade machine home furnishing. The idea seems so out of left field but Yoshi P said they actually were working on something like that for the FF1 pixel remaster at least, but hit a wall with technical issues trying to build a launcher inside of an already launched game. He then laughed and said if there were any software devs who think they could solve it, please apply to Square Enix.

in ages past people asked about things like Qiqirn, Apkallu, Imps etc. being almost 1:1 ports from XI to XIV and the answer given was a lot of the team for 1.0 was pulled from TOAU and they loved their old creations

Yoshi P says in Famitsu interview they are working on a system to allow new players to start at 6.1 patch content with an in-game lore glossary to catch people up on events and characters. They want to be more accessible to new players without having to start from 2.0 to reach current content.

He didn't say if it would be like the current paid story skip or not, but I imagine it might lean that way.

Being new player friendly and tossing an additional charge seems a bit contradictory since they're not really going to "know" if they like the game or not. However, I think at this point, the growing frustration of some not being able to play with more established friends because the MSQ grind is so lengthy is an issue.

I think they could cobble together some combo of cut scenes and sub-titled stills to catch folks up on major points per expansion. Could probably milk some fangasms if they had Emet narrate on top.

I would imagine they would release a "complete collection" that would include the boost, but keep the free trial on the old stuff
