Giannis too-smalled a jacked 7 footer in Deandre Ayton for an entire series, there's maybe no one left in the league that can handle him 1 on 1. Butler and Kawhi only guys to ever really lock him up but that was a few years ago and they had Bam/Gasol waiting in the wings.

but ya Simmons has regressed terribly on defense as well. was a top 10 talent on that side of the floor at one point.

that shit was devastating man i remember in the early days of Ayton's career when he was a much worse defender he guarded Giannis real well for one game and every Suns fan was like damn look at the potential! then he grew into the potential, became one of the better defensive bigs in the league, guarded Giannis well whenever they played. arrive at the NBA Finals, game 1, boom, held Giannis to 20 points and 4 assists. Ayton is the Giannis stopper. we got this.

then back to back 40 pointers on 65% where he bullied Ayton so badly the state of Arizona started running PSAs. clinches the series with a 50 spot.
