Marvel has tapped “Star Trek: Picard” executive producer Terry Matalas to resurrect Vision, the synthezoid played by Paul Bettany, for a new, untitled Disney+ series set for 2026, Variety has learned exclusively. Bettany will return to the role and Matalas will serve as showrunner.

Marvel brought in Matalas after his work running Season 3 of “Star Trek: Picard” — which brought back the cast of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” to widespread acclaim, garnering Matalas a WGA award nomination for the 2023 series finale — greatly impressed the top brass at the studio. (Marvel chief Kevin Feige, an avowed Trekkie, even recently appeared with Matalas on a two-hour episode of the “Star Trek” podcast “Inglorious Treksperts.”)

An earlier version of a Vision series had been in development with “WandaVision” creator Jac Schaeffer, but Schaeffer’s attention turned to running a separate “WandaVision” spinoff, “Agatha All Along” with Kathryn Hahn, that is set to premiere in September.

Funny that it's called Wanda's trilogy and she wasn't in Agatha at all

Billy Maximoff played a central role in Agatha and I’m assuming Vision, Billy, and Wanda will be reuniting in the new series to try to find Tommy

I wasn't even thinking of Agatha. I was thing Multiverse of Madness

I will be shocked if Wanda returns in the TV show

Reading this thread reminded me of the opening sequence of Agatha while she was still under Wanda's spell lol

this show looks fun

[Takiwaki]

First 2 ep dropped, better than expected. Also unusually violent for a disney plus marvel show.

Watched the first episode. Solid premise, enjoying the AI cast quite a bit. James Spader stealing the show already.

Will watch second one tomorrow.

Surprisingly so.

Spoiler: show

Hospital scene was like one of those Batman-esque "well that guy is dead" memes. Piles drives a dude head first with a crunch, welp, he's dead. Phases a grenade to blow people up, welp they're dead. GF and I were already chuckling at that point. Then lasers a guy into ash before proceeding into the hallway shot with blood splattering lol. I'm taking it to be more reinforcement this ain't our vision - He was already pretty unperturbed with the bar owner's death. Or it's just commentary on our future once AI breaks loose. :D
