Better bankrupt than dead amirite.

nice
Just transfer your assets before you go. Just do it in advance enough so they can't be clawed back.
I think we should bring back debtors prisons.

Uhhhh
Think I care more about quality of life than the price. There's always shenanigans we can do with money, but if they can have a normal life for decades to come then I'd shell the money out for it.
For 6 months of living bed ridden though? Just pull the plug

Don't have to be on life support to be in a state I wouldn't want to live in. My grandmother just passed away from a brain tumor and her last 3-4 months, I wouldn't wish on anyone :/
I wish it were that easy to tell that to family. I had a patient who had no surrogate decision makers outside of one and because of the laws it took 2 months to get permission to unplug them. They were brain dead for two months because the family didn't want them to be unplugged and pushed back.
2 months.
People don't want to let go, and I get that, but sometimes there really is no meaningful chance of recovery.
I'm all for pulling the plug on someone, just not myself.
I can't wait to get to become a cyborg and live 200 years
Seriously, can't wait for artificial lungs and livers let's gooooo

Artificial kidneys first plz. Renal failure leading to multiple organ failure was why my family pulled the plug on my mom. It's really fucked that her weight gain at the end was because all the retained fluids and not a miraculous recovery.
Also dialysis sucks.
I am right there with you. I either want to become a cyborg or have my telomeres repaired to reverse aging. I want to see where this wild ride is going. I think if I have lived long enough and had a normal fruitful life then seeing the end of the world would be interesting.
Edit: Need a way to cure/fix dementia and other brain diseases too though.
BDNF is a possibility, as is neural stem cell stimulation, but these things have not been fully tapped as anything but measures to slow progression... not reverse it.
What we know is stress induces aging. The human body was not meant to endure stress for long periods of time without consequences.
Sounds stupid, but mindfulness, exercise, and even hedonism are probably healthier for your lifespan than working. In my opinion as a doctor (heh) I think the lack of purpose we feel these days is because we place so much emphasis on industrious contributions instead of purposeful existence (in an admittedly purposeless existence). When people lose that and have nothing to fall back on, or when people have dissonance between wanting to be happy and wanting to be useful, that's when stress ramps up.
Look what that shit did to Obama over 8 years.
We need to give people permission to relax, take a break, and move away from the hive mentality.
It isn't going to happen though.
