Gred's XI thing, Ryan's tankie thing, BG is playing all the hits today.
You're comparing apples to oranges.
Ryan thinks legit Stalin was a great guy that didn't kill millions in the collectivization of farms and didn't cleanse the Soviet party of dissent in the great purge.
My facts are correct I just have a different interpretation and valuation. I'm not up here trying to tell you all that kings were the most accessible form of content.

All that waiting for apoc nigh.
The entire patch was worth it just to farm BST and PLD salt in the official discord. NIN changes are sweet and it's nice we have some more endgame stuff open/working (AN, Ouryu, Bahamut v2, JoL). I appreciate he's excited about what's coming but Aerec probably needs to relax on how much he hypes up what's coming, people run a mile with every word he says and it always just leads to them being disappointed. Overall I think it was a good patch, a bunch of solid changes even if a lot of it was pretty minor. Excited for Kipling to give me Drain 2 in 1.2!
Lol the updates are for dev groups who already have a few Nin's at 75 to abuse Nin's OPness for a few months and then nerf it in 1.2. They did the same thing with BST and PLD to race to 75 and now BST is being discarded and PLD brought back in line with other jobs. The adjustments to BST are obvious and necessary but that job should've never been in the state that it was out the gate, but being that it's the easiest job to get to 75 from 0 when boosted.. its clear why it occurred. ERA plus seems to mean, make random changes, move goalposts, then move them back and then move them again to serve whatever purpose in-game.

The new NIN 2 hour is dog on literally anything that matters, this is some severe copium. Watching our NIN do 5 damage per hit on gods sure is a massive meta shift. BST had positive changes (charm fix) you just have to spend a little bit of gil now for pets and the enmity on Enlight wasn't working in the first place so PLD lost literally nothing too unless you consider the Defender change a problem when you're literally /NIN for everything anyway. Server still sucks though, they "fixed" my Drain so you can't see the damage on it unless you're missing enough HP like it was on retail, we just can't have nice things.
Edit: We can see Drain damage again Horizon is saved.
Yah that makes sense, thats probably why the one Dev who posts here Mains RDM, the singular most nerfed job from the get go, so he could have an advantage.
He's not a Dev 1. RDM will have its day coming up 2. Think what you want. This is all my "opinion" based on what ive seen when checking certain things out.
Hey we all tinfoil about something in our life, I get it.
And come on son, he's the Balance Project Manager, the man may not be entering the metaphorical 1s and 0's but he's got his hands in stuff.
I bet Kipling could tell Aerec that the sky is blue, and Aerec would respond with "ACSHUALLLY my ls found the sky was green in 2009 so you're wrong." Devs who can't accept and consider community feedback are the actual issue.
Weird that new accounts are the ones talking shit all of a sudden, but if you want to make this pointless argument the correct bullet point is that Dynamis was disabled on the server for months except for the "testing" linkshell. Said testers got comp'd hourglasses and to keep the gear/currency/clears they obtained while nobody else could enter and were subsequently in icelands as everyone else got access. If you asked if your linkshell could help them test, they didn't need any more testers. Any guesses who was in the test group?
"Buffing jobs so they could exploit it" is some launch-level drama from page 1, get with it.
On the bright side 1.1 happened to rollback the last thing I posted about in this thread though, so we got that going for us.
I feel for kip cause he's the only one even trying to occasionally explain their reasoning and philosophy but in true ffxi fashion it's all thinly veiled nonsense cause we've all been around the block long enough to see the favoritism nonsense.
They rolled back that crab nerd tho? Lmao. Me sitting here waiting to see when they fix rdm

Wouldn't be so peeved with the obvious job blind spots if there was a real way to submit ideas or suggestions to the team. The Suggestion discord section is just a cesspool of "Team A vs Team B" mindsets. Suggest something that might help Bastok? Every Windurst/Sandy will downvote it. Suggest something that might benefit BST? Heaven fucking forbid even the sensible buffs get downvoted to hell because people hate the job. Granted maybe they dont look at pure upvote/downvotes but if you dont know a thing about THF and you see someone ask for say, Dual Wield 1 on THF to open up their sub job options as a little boost to their job variety, and its downvoted, are you going to look into it any further? Probably not.
Their stance on keeping everything insolated (to protect their code and secrets among other things im sure) has its benefits for PAFO and preventing leaks, but leads to these clear blind spots in balancing that are frustrating as hell. They're a small team who understandable is probably more interested in playing the game they've labored to create than fixing things that dont affect them, they want to play, this isn't a bad thing... but when nobody can help them in any meaningful way, shit like Bloody Bolts and Blind Bolts which have been broken since DAY ONE continue to go unrepaired despite community members reaching out with information needed for the fix, this information is apparently not getting to the right people because on the most recent livestream they said "We need retail data" to fix them, data which someone on the discord has gathered and provided weeks ago.
Part of me feels there was a way for every job to have a distinct voiceline to the team. Once a month, we gather up a small list (5 or less) of our most requested or voted for features to present to the Development/Balance team in an easy to ready/absorb way for them to consider. It doesnt necessarily mean all those things will be added, but it would be a far better system than some jobs just constantly getting the step child treatment and ignored due to nobody on the Dev team really understanding or knowing the needs of the job.
Hell maybe I'll suggest that on the Suggestion section of the discord server so Aerec can Veto it immediately <3
