This is pretty common but it does explain alot. I always assumed he had never played actual 75 era with some of the choices made.

If it were 2007 I could see some people name claiming to troll and make fun of people they didn't like, especially if they got themselves in some silly feud on another site, but nowadays, I'm pretty sure the, "Who?" response will apply to all but the most known. And even then, niche. After all, part of the whole Classic fad is to sucker in people who couldn't play back in the day for whatever reason.

Beyond actual friends I played with, remember a lot of the notables from Asuran HNMLS still. Off the top of my head I remember Oro, Kayos, Selits, Soup, Krandor, Aurea, Wosoa...

There are also those I remember for negative reasons: Dblock, Percival, Smokeone

Ya know, I think I had everyone of your negative dudes blisted for like 20 years. I actually recall Smokeone, hes the dude who always did that cringe shout when he zoned in. The other two I have no memories attached to them but I remember the names.

I dont recognize any of the other ones, but I didn't do HNMs in retail.

I have had a pretty good time on this server. Even if I don't agree with some changes it is fine. However, I need to find a way to keep myself from interacting with any of the staff or mods. It is always a bad experience and they have mostly (all but Frank) been very unpleasant people. As long as I avoid them, it is great.

I haven’t had much interaction with the rest of them though, try to stay out of Horizon Chat and the only time devs stop by the THF section is to pretend they’re listening(/s) so I don’t see them a lot

When you have someone "paying 500 bucks every few months" to be an admin, they become a god on the server. Not only are they effectively paying to be an admin, but they can harass women and the woman will be removed cause the woman isn't paying the server owner thousands of dollars a year. Ninja also has stated he pays server costs too, either this is the most expensive server in history or the owner is making bank selling clout.

At least we know now why the admins are there, the power trip is worth money to people with certain personality disorders. We also know the server owner is accepting money from whoever opens their wallet, and that will always come with strings attached.

Ain't no way an XI emulation costs that fucking much to maintain especially since everyone working on it is a volunteer. They buying a new platform every quarter?

We maintain multiple boxes. I pay for all the discord bots, etc. it doesn’t cost that much a month but that’s what I throw in. The implication that I am paying my own money to “be an admin” is very silly though. Just a nerd with a hobby. Really think you folks need to take a second to self reflect and realize we are just dudes with jobs who want to play a version of the game that doesn’t exist and formed a hobby group to do so. It’s that simple.
