fuck shriekers in general
fuck shriekers in general
omg i'm so fucking sad
had like 400 max hp and a ton of time left, got stuck on one of the hourglasses and chronos killed me on a fear 32 run lol.
been trying to beat it with the axe with little progress. switched to skulls and i'm basically murdering everything with plenty of time leftover.
I spent part of Juneteenth playing this game and had a good time. There are still a few edges that need sanding, but I would play it a lot more in it's current state if I had the opportunity.
My general comments are:
1. Learning curve is much more gentle than the last game, which is probably good. I got through the first area on my second run and beat the second area on run 5 or so. I think it took me 20 runs in Hades 1 to make it out of the first zone. I know I had friends that never made it out of the first zone of Hades 1 before they quit.
2. Armored shriekers are annoying.
3. I doubt I can beat the second boss with the lag of Steam Link, but I may try because otherwise I think I won't be playing this again for months.
in my version of hell on earth, armored shriekers roam the land
and pretty much every mob from oceanos lives in the sea
I got to Chronos with the wands using Steam Link, so it is fine and I will play a bit more.
Took me a long time to figure out how to upgrade Grasp. I had enough psyche stored up to immediately upgrade to 20 when I figured it out.
Balance is perhaps a bit lacking right now, but they will get it there! I wonder if Tanaka would consult.
I beat Chronos without using death defiance due to some broken Demeter-based combination of boons.
I think I am done until the official release.
nice! yeah there was an update recently but it was just buffs/tweaks/nerfs maybe? don't think i'll be touching the game till something major comes out, otherwise
The small patch this week they said is the last one before the first major update, whenever that may be
New update is here. New region, new weapon type, new familiars.

UGH. MUST RESIST TIL GAME IS OUT
Moonstone Axe: reworked Special is a rising slash that strikes several times, but no longer blocks foes
NO
damn, i wanna jump back in but given i've been playing a lot of hell knight, lately, i'd be too screwed up with just enough buttons kinda the same, but kinda not
I keep playing this game once in a while. I think I'm nearing the end of the available content, but goddamn is there ever a lot of content in it already.
As they've made the boons more complicated, they've also created more possibilities for broken combinations, which is going to make it hard to balance. For those that haven't played it yet, I think holding off until the real release is may be the way to go. I don't mind destroying monsters with an occasionally broken set of boons, but it does make it feel like the game is more about what rolls you get in the early boons and less about skill.
Spoiler: show
damn i think i'm two patches behind, gonna start to feel overwhelmed i think if i try now lol
I mean you can just kind of pickup where you left off.
The Warsong update was fucking great tho, the final boss for the Surface World is great and the various balance changes were solid.
hmm neat, i might consider it
Hades II is definitely a sequel. I estimate it will have at least ~3x the content of Hades when complete, but it's possible for them to triple their output because they're largely doing more of the same. Quality hasn't dropped, but they are very much making a sequel so it isn't like there's a mindblowing amount of innovation going on. If you liked Hades but wish it was 4 times longer and a bit more complicated, Hades II is a great game for you.
Spoiler: show
I wonder what people will consider the playtime of this game to be when it's complete. Steam says I'm at 73 hours already. I bet I break 100, which is crazy for a roguelike.
New hard mode for bosses, new aspect for every weapon, Umbral Flames rework. Sounds like this is the last major update before 1.0
New update is fantastic, the new weapon aspects are super fun (the axe one especially is very very cool, haven't figured out to unlock the blades or black coat ones yet).
Per the Update Notes the game is basically content complete gameplay wise, from now until the official release is bug fixing and eventually adding in the true ending
Shite! I need to finish Okami HD and then I'm heading back to hell/heaven!
