    Weekly Update:
    https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/Art...wab_01_12_2023

When Iron Banner returns on January 31, we’re planning on increasing the amount of Iron Banner Rank you earn at the end of matches, doubling the multipliers you get from wearing Iron Banner gear, halving the multipliers you get for completing challenges, and significantly increasing the multiplier you get for wearing an Iron Banner emblem. We expect this to decrease the number of games needed to earn a Rank reset by around 40% and make it more worthwhile to play earlier in the week.
    Sorry, Qal.

Players who were granted access to armor mods in yesterday’s patch will not have them appear as unlocked in Collections. They can still use them freely in their armor.
    Are these not permanent unlocks..?

We have a blog post planned for next week with more information on how mods and buildcrafting all up will be evolving in Lightfall... stay tuned!
We know a lot of you really like Archie and are concerned about their future. They are leaving the H.E.L.M. at the end of the Season, but they will be returning to the Tower in Season 21 for more pets.

I can't tell whether it's just a bug with how they unlocked them all for everyone, or if they're intended to go away again when Lightfall hits. They listed it in the Known Issues but it could very well be a trial period to let people test things before it all gets locked again.

No worries, knew it was a possibility, but also know that later in the season I'd have less interest/other games so it was a risk I was willing to take.

Also I assume it's a bug in that they "unlocked" for everyone but weren't "given" thus not added to collections since they weren't technically acquired. As bad as they can be about communication/reading the room I still can't believe that they would re-lock them later and not expect a shitstorm.

So I want to buy lightfall, but I also don't since I really only do the weekly story anymore and even then feel like its a chore... I'm not sure I would get enough out of it...

Don't let the FOMO win, imo. If you're really not playing much right now, don't buy something you aren't going to use. The expansion will still be there later if you decide you want to play more again.

for me it's very much a sunk cost kind of thing. I still enjoy the gameplay, but I'm in a similar boat of playing til the seasonal story has ended and then kinda peacing out, but at this point I've put so many years into the game I want to at least finish the "saga of light and dark" story. I think that will be a major turning point though as I imagine a lot of people will see it as a good place to exit the series unless there's some major work done to persuade us to stay.

I minimized my play time two seasons ago, and increased it just a tiny bit last season. I'm more into playing this season. It's ok to stop playing or play less.

    I've definitely cut my playtime down this year. Played the least during Haunted, but I've slowly been ramping up. Last season I did the story and would knock out my weekly raids (finally got both exotics), this season has been a lot of time grinding weapon patterns. Haunted is the worst system by far >.>;

It's unfortunate cause the story is great, it's just Bungie has steered too hard into making the game grindy versus fun, and I hate how powerful we have become this year.

I think Plundered was the season I played the least this year, in large part because Expedition and Ketchcrash were just not fun to me (and also because the armor and weapon aesthetics just did not appeal to me. Way too spiky). It felt very much like a filler season, which was fine by me because it gave me an opportunity to play other stuff and recharge a bit.

I think we feel really powerful right now because the Light 3.0 reworks were done with Lightfall enemy density and encounter design in mind, and current encounters just were not expected to have to stand up to the kinds of things we can do now. Duality, Spire of the Watcher, and the Risen/Seraph battlegrounds all feel like they're a preview of what we can expect combat to be more like in Lightfall, where the density is cranked up and our power levels are capped, which will make things a bit tougher overall.

Maybe I'll finish season of the haunted's weapons before lightfall then.

They only boosted the rates for raid and dungeon patterns.

    Some pretty huge changes here:
    https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/article/buildcrafting

    TL;DR:

Consolidation is a major theme in many of the changes you’ll be seeing today.

The current (pre-Lightfall) mod system has been built piecemeal over the years and contains a lot of redundancies.

The Loadouts system empowers Guardians to suit up for whatever task, on the fly.

Up to ten slots available to save multiple loadouts.

This single-screen system also provides opportunities for players to create and share their loadouts with the community more easily.

The Mod Customization screen will make managing your mods easier with them all in one place.

Like the Guardian Appearance screen, this screen creates an easy to reference space where you can see all your armor pieces and mods at any given time.

Champion counters are being spread between Artifact perks, subclass abilities, and more.

Updates to mods streamline the process and bring new and exciting build potential to Destiny 2.

We’re taking the opportunity to touch and tune every single mod in Destiny 2.

We’re removing Energy types from mods and armor, giving players more flexibility in crafting their builds. No more switching between Energy types to find the mod you want.

We’re reducing the pressure on Armor Energy by re-tuning armor mod costs and changing Artifact perks to no longer require mod slots.

We’re moving from weapon-type-specific mods to damage-type-specific mods for increased flexibility in builds.
