Launch trailer premiering on the 23rd during Sony's State of Play.
Look, I was as excited at the next person with the power boost of void 3.0, but you cannot tell me we aren't too powerful right now. We've had a year of being brokenly strong, and there is a portion of the playerbase (myself included) who is tired of how easy the game has become and welcomes this change. Some players are going to cry about the "power fantasy," but when you can stand in front of Rhulk, a raid boss, and just take the hits without him doing enough damage to kill you, that's a problem.
As far as Lost Sectors, I know there are some people who complain that they've grinded lost sectors for like three hours or whatever and not gotten a single drop, but that always confused me. There are a handful of lost sectors that take less than ten minutes to finish, and I've always just waited till one of those were up and burned through those whenever I needed to farm an exotic. Having the potential for an exotic every ten minutes probably needs to be reined in.
Friend that hates gambit was complaining about the lack of gambit news last night. He doesn't realize the catch 22 is that whatever updates gambit gets will make people that like gambit enjoy it more probably, and make people that hate gambit hate it more definitely.
YOU SHUT YOUR FUCKIN' MOUTH RIGHT NOW!
Disa-fucking-gree. With no way to focus on a specific exotic trying to farm one with even a good, nevermind great, stat roll is already beyond tedious. Until there's a way to target farm one the rate for random drops needs to be high or an already frustrating problem is exacerbated.
Targeted farming would be nice, especially as the potential loot pool grows.. ..but again, there are some lost sectors that can be completed on the highest difficulty in under 10 mins.
Back when I played more, I had a habit of running some of the easy ones whenever I had downtime and helmets were available to farm knuckleheads. I've got eight in my vault atm. And that ignores the ones I scrapped for being sub-60 rolls. And that was before the 3.0 updates because I'm pretty sure I didn't farm any this year.
I'm not saying the system is perfect, but let's not pretend it isn't ridiculously easy to farm if you're smart about it.
This is why sunsetting should have stuck around.
The Dreaming City ones and some of the EDZ ones can all be done in under 2 minutes, but that's fine given that you're fighting three levels of RNG. You need to get a drop (~25% on Legend, ~33% on Master), you need to get the piece you actually want (~1/6 or 1/7 odds depending on the class and slot), and then you need to get the stat distribution you're looking for (I don't even know what those odds are, even with a stat-focused Ghost mod).
For example, the last time it was Chamber of Starlight with Helmets dropping, I farmed for nearly four hours on my Titan, with ~70 second clears. I got 0 Loreley Splendors.
The point is they did not mention drop rates on exotics from lost sectors which imo is pretty bad even for a 5 min run. People do not run these just to get the exotics but for getting a proper roll on it. I also find its funny how its ok for some exotics to be handed out in season passes or quests but hearing how it should be something super rare in lost sectors makes me lol. Exotics are no longer supposed to be this super rare overpowered item, they have not been that for a long time, its supposed to be a defining part of the build craft they are trying to achieve.
There is a lot of contradicting things in that blog post that has the community a bit upset. being forced into specific loadouts and class is one of them. Rip trying run hard content with stasis next season for example.
I mean don't get me wrong Im gonna play the fuck out of lightfall, but some of these changes are like 1 step forward 2 steps back. Hey guys we took out match game but now every sheild in the entire game is kinda like match game lol (also pretty sure everyone is overreacting with most of these changes lol)
Shields are definitely not like Match Game now. Match Game means non-matching damage does 1/10th damage to the shield. The new shields will just take 50% damage from unmatched damage. That's a 5-factor increase in unmatched shield damage.
I know legendary lost sectors are free as hell. I won't be mad if it changes, but I don't want it to. With regard to sunsetting, I still think it was a fantastic idea they should have kept. It would have allowed for solid meta control.
oh
I did stasis glaive for a whole in challenging content for damage boosting with sythos. Based on the data I've seen, it will be just as easy to run something akin to it next season.
I think a lot of people enjoy talking about build crafting as a concept but don't actually do any build crafting.
