Christian Eriksen collapsed and had a heart attack on the field at last years Euros. Afterwards he was diagnosed with HCM. Professional premier league player of 11 years.

    Undiagnosed HCM is super common.
Yes but unscreened is not, which is the point I'm trying to make. They may miss it, but there's no way it wasn't looked for and honestly it's more likely he suffered a contusion-induced arrhythmia than it is he made it this far without a SCA.

This is what I'm contending. You're assuming a fact that none of us can possibly know, when there are multiples of examples of it not being the case. Otherwise there wouldn't be examples of guys in literally every sport you can think that ended up being diagnosed after having a heart attack playing whatever sport they're playing.

You can possibly know. You posted the article. Look at college incidence rates vs athlete rates vs general population rates. It's data you can easily make inferences from. Individual incidences are anecdotal. We know for a fact they can and do screen at the professional level. I'd imagine screening at the collegiate level will be largely dependent on athletic budgets.

No, actually you're assuming facts on things you don't know.

Also, the g-league player you referenced earlier...he was diagnosed with HCM before his death. And then later medically cleared. It works both ways, but the point is, these athletes are screened.

The NBA mandates an EKG, Echo, troponin labs in their standard screening process.

"Damar Hamlin’s uncle Dorrian Glenn said his nephew is “flipped over on his stomach” in the hospital to help with the blood on his lungs."

Hemothorax doesn't have many causes. Seems like they fractured some ribs during CPR or he suffered a rib fracture during the blunt force to the sternum.

Either way, hope he recovers. Still would be a miracle if he played again.

Commies to go back to Heinickie this week. The fifth round rookie Sam Howell will be the backup.

Sounds like Wentz isn’t even gonna dress lol.

Hopefully this means they had seen some promising results on an EEG that would suggest he has neurological function.

considering how long he was reportedly gone, would full brain function done the road even be a possibility or would the expectations be more like just hoping for basic motor functionality?

Miami should be fine...surely they can beat the Jets and the Pats will get crushed by the Bills. After watching the last few Pats game, their play-calling is at the very bottom of the league.

the way things are hanging, i wouldn't be shocked if we don't see the bills play again until the playoffs and the league does seeding based off of percentage

Still recall an early season Florida Panthers game Tua visited, where he got the Mayor's treatment and the crowd was cheering "MVP!" for him

Feels like so long ago now lol
