Damn, just came to post this. My wife showed me. She is a huge fan of that show and by default I watched them all at one point. He was my favorite of the Friends bunch and fucking comedy gold in The Whole 9 Yards. Sad times.

People saying he drowned in his jacuzzi and there were no drugs found and foul play is not suspected. Sounds like he might have had a heart attack or stroke in the jacuzzi.

Well if anything reading more about this has informed me that people with heart damage are not supposed to use hot tubs or jacuzzis which I never knew before so good info to have. Apparently the prolonged exposure to hot water is very bad on heart.

I did not know about his addiction problems until now. I hardly ever read things about celebrities personal lives.

Perry became addicted to Vicodin after a jet-ski accident in 1997, and completed a 28-day rehab program that year.[71] His weight fluctuated over the next few years, dropping to 145 pounds (66 kg).[72] At age 30, he suffered from alcohol-induced pancreatitis and erectile dysfunction.[73]

Perry entered rehab in February 2001 for an addiction to Vicodin, methadone, amphetamines, and alcohol.[74] Fifteen years later, he revealed that due to his addiction issues, he did not remember three years of the time he was acting on Friends, between seasons three and six.[75]

In 2018, Perry spent five months in a hospital for a gastrointestinal perforation. During the hospital stay, Perry nearly died after his colon burst from opioid abuse. He spent two weeks in a coma and used a colostomy bag for nine months. Upon being admitted to the hospital, doctors told his family that Perry had a 2% chance of survival. He was connected to a extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machine, which breathed for him.[76]

Two years afterwards, while attending rehab in Switzerland, Perry faked pain to get a prescription of 1,800 milligrams of Oxycontin per day and was having daily ketamine infusions. He was given propofol in conjunction with a surgery, which stopped his heart for five minutes. The resulting cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) resulted in eight broken ribs. He paid $175,000 for a private jet to take him to Los Angeles to get more drugs. When doctors there refused, Perry spent another $175,000 to take a private jet back to Switzerland.[77] In 2022, he estimated that $9 million was spent on his addiction, including 14 stomach surgeries and 15 stays in rehab as well as 6,000 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, and therapy twice a week for 30 years.[10][78]
