Ohio's Secretary of State will not accept a provisional nomination because the DNC convention occurs after the deadline to include Biden in the November general election. And the Republican majority in the state legislature is feeling petty and would not grant a waiver or accept a provisional nomination.

Texas GOP trying their hardest to make sure they stay in power perpetually. Majority of Texas counties are empty but they swing to the right, and this plan gives low-pop counties 10x more voting power than populated counties (that swing left).

I suppose the consensus would be although normally highly unlikely, ultimately if there was ever a batch of Supreme Court justices that would look for a reason and take on this case, it would be because of specific members of the current crop.

He's (Salo) mistakenly conflating state court with federal court like as if it's a state crime vs a federal crime. You can be prosecuted for federal crimes in a state court.

To be clear, Roe vs Wade, the Obergefell v Hodges cases, etc were supreme court rulings about state laws (because the constitutionality of the laws were disputed)
