I’m not thrilled about Biden but it’s not like the DNC has positioned anyone else remotely capable of winning. Biden barely eeked by Trump in the most divisive election in modern American history. As much as I stan for Bernie he’s probably the closest thing to a next best option and hoo boy if you think republicans are crazy for calling Biden a leftist just imagine the frothing fervor over Bernie on the ticket.
Most divisive presidential election in modern American history since the one before it. Lol
So we also have here:
*'DNC suppresses candidates so I am not thrilled, but lets reboot 2020's "No one else can win" narrative.'
*"I support Bernie, but Republicans will attack him with the same things they say about Biden."
**Such an expected response is somehow important because "No one else can win."
You keep repeating these points and laughing as if they are a joke and you’re the only one who “gets it”. It’s not. It’s reality.
Biden vs Trump WAS the most divisive election in modern history. Hillary vs Trump WAS the most divisive election in modern history before that. Obama/Romney and Obama/McCain and Bush/Kerry and Bush/Gore and I’m not going to keep going but none of them were on the levels the last two elections were, nor were any of them even remotely close in outcome except for Bush/Gore. No one else on the DNC ticket has shown themselves capable of winning, so it has to be Biden as much as the idea makes myself and others groan. If you are in a solidly blue state maybe you have the privilege of voting with your conscious for a third party candidate but for the people out here actually trying to win elections and prevent a fascist takeover they have to tow the line. “But that sucks! LOL!” Yeah no shit, but until the DNC puts out a candidate that can move the people to the voting booths it’s the reality we live in.
Obama vs McCain was anything but divisive. Minus Palin being a fucking lunatic, it was an incredibly bland election.
Seriously though, who is the DNC gonna trot out? They have no bench and a sitting president that beat trump at the height of his popularity. You'll get Biden v Trump 2024 and Whitmer v Desantis or Noem 2028 and you'll like it. Although I think Noems incredibly hard line abortion stance will probably disqualify her.
I'm kind of surprised Newsom hasn't put his hat in the ring. He seems like an obvious pick.
Possible Newsom knows there is no benefit to having a contested primary against an incumbent and possibly weakening the party in the general election.

Newsom is attempting to fix a total shitshow in CA right now, if he ran in '24 he would be eviscerated over SF/SD/LA crime among other things.
Part of why he's pretty much constantly announcing sweeping reforms / initiatives right now to deal with it. He wants a clean balance sheet in '28 when he runs.
He's also probably cognizant of the fact that the GOP is almost certainly going to run Trump, who will either be term limited if he wins, or quite possibly literally dead by '28 regardless. The 2028 election from both parties is shaping up to be pretty transformative.
There's a small part of me that wants to see Trump keep running each election cycle and losing each time. Basically holding the GOP hostage and keeping them from the presidency the next few terms.
But that small part is overruled by the rest that realizes America was dumb enough to vote this mofo in once and they very well could do it again.
Trump would be 81 in '28 so even in that scenario I can't imagine him physically even being able to run much past that. Obese 70+ year olds with shitty diets can only coast on good genetics for so long. He's going to slam head on into a wall sooner or later.
Isn't Biden 80 now?
The thing is these guys get world class healthcare.
I think you missed the point I was making. The bombastic description of the Trump Biden election isnt special since we had the same 4 years before that, and frankly it was much more divisive. That is neither here nor there,as it was cheeky bit of observation.
Which unironicly again shows where people's mindsets are in America.
Once more the DNC has declared who the candidate will be, and the party faithful get in line. To declare there was no alternative to a manufactured outcome.
Give me a break with the hyperbolic "fascist takeover" nonsense. You are voting for neoliberals out of an instilled sense of duty. While openly decrying having a conscience as some impossible impractical luxury of privilege. Much to the same exact way Biden is portrayed and sold. Imagine that, but it's not unrealistic to evaluate an outcome as less than inevitable.
He doesn't want to get Bernied. They told him to wait if he made overtures. The party does this all the time with anyone that doesn't get in line.
Hmm, where have I heard this complained about before?
The self-fulfilling prophecy continues, I guess. -.-
I feel like Pepe survived the attempted alt right coup. They still use it but it feels like nobody cares.
Pepe and the OK hand sign are sacred to me. No way I'm letting the chuds win on taking those over.
Keep pepe, lose okay sign. Good ole fashioned American compromise
