Most of the defensive staff stayed from the Flores staff after he was fired. It became readily apparent that Flores was responsible for Miami's defensive successes in his time there.

For what it's worth, I don't think Boyer is a bad DC. He had really good moments like the wildcard game against buffalo, but he absolutely loves cover 0 and runs the shit out of it...even if half your defensive backs are injured and undrafted rookies are starting. Didn't adjust.

(the main reason the vikings were frauds this year is because they had the 2nd worst defense by yardage allowed, and sucked in most advanced metrics. 27th defense by DVOA)
