I'll bite. What do you propose?
Let's be mindful not everyone has a streaming platform to fundraise through. The idiots going, "I bought the game, but also donated!" are missing the point they've still enriched a POS and could've collectively donated exclusively. As someone in Ohio, I can't really do shit about Minnesota's legislation and OH's own steps are enriched by the usual deplorable mentality where logic holds no sway. To reiterate why that TikTok is dumb, the financial logistics of people traveling to and staying at Disney for any meaningful period and in mass isn't viable when you further factor the primary audience is on the short end of disposable income because our world is garbage, which also inhibits financial charity.
And I get it, it's easy to just shrug and be all, "Your grievances are invalid!" without any knowledge of my own ties to the affected. "Please don't do this." "I'm disappointed in you and can't support you anymore." is truly the epitome of toxic as streamers irrationally meltdown when they realize "good vibes only" is not a realistic social experience if you want to view your community as something more than a revenue stream.
Nonetheless, what I am seeing through my own circles and those within their periphery are suggestions for media that aren't tainted, LGBT friendly games (and creators), plans underway for their own charity streams if they haven't started already. I'll admit I'm currently limited in my own reach with my PC out for repairs, but this hasn't stopped me from reassuring friends and keeping my eyes peeled as more of the plot and questionable allusions surface (which also includes the usual antisemitism people came to expect). And hey, I get some may have been under a rock and didn't know the real world implications of all this. What they do after still matters.
