I remember there was a lot of rumors/reports that Russ visited and spoke with a few people in Seattle before the week 1 game except for Pete Carroll. Then there was the awkward hug after the game between the two.

So this new information kinda tracks with that. To be honest though, Russ may be corny as shit but he doesn’t exactly strike me as the vindictive type.

I'd assume it's less of a vindictive kind of thing and just what we've seen for years from Russ where he assumes if you just get him cook and run the offense he wants to run, he'd be an MVP. And Carroll's style of play calling prevented that, so he wanted him gone.
